Vocational education is education that prepares people to work in various jobs, such as a trade, a craft, or as a technician. Vocational education is sometimes referred to as career education or technical education. These are industry specific courses that prepare the individual for real time working environment with all the necessary skills such as technical, soft skills or managerial skills.
                    There is a great scope for such skilled professionals as they prove to be highly valuable and beneficial in terms of their proficiency and expertise in the field of their work as compared to their workmates. They prove to be more skillful which makes their work more appreciable. 
                    The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recent report stresses on ‘acquiring skills’ as a vital component for reducing poverty, recovery of an economic and sustainable development in a developing nation. An impact of this can be seen in various government policies and schemes and skill development programs being encouraged by Indian government. The Indian government initiative of National Skill Development programs under the National Skill Development Corporation, Ministry of Finance, also promotes and facilitates the skill development and vocational studies for today’s youth.
                    Campaigns like Skill India launched and promoted by the Indian government, targets to train crores of Indian youth in various industrial skills and make them employable by 2022. Various MoUs signed by Indian Government with foreign delegates to invest in India for giant projects will demand a huge workforce that is technically sound with all the necessary industrial skills.
