Stream selection after 10th grade is one the most daunting tasks for a student as well as for the Indian parents. This is because the Indian education system offers four broad streams ‘Science-A, Science-B, Commerce & Humanities’ after 10th to choose from. The nature of these streams is three dimensional, which makes the selection process all the more tedious.

The first requirement is to find out an area of study, research or exploration which really interests the child. This can also be observed by looking at what the child likes to do when he/she is free? Also, it can be observed by looking at tasks and things which makes the child lose track of time. Simply speaking what is something which your child really “enjoys” doing?
Aptitude:
The Aptitude for Science A/B group, Commerce, Arts can be identified by looking at the various subject combinations, which the child enjoys while studying in the class. We can also ascertain this by observing the group of subjects which the child feels naturally comfortable with, without much efforts.
Personality:
Every profession will have different personality requirements. For example, a Doctor needs to be Polite, Humane, and Empathetic along with being good at observation and Decision Making. If my child has all these qualities, he/she may be right fit to go for Medicine thus Science-B Group.
