Stream selection after 10th grade is one the most daunting tasks for student as well as for the parents. In the Indian Education system, there are four broad streams offered namely Science-A group, Science-B group, Commerce group & Humanities/ Arts group.
Also there are 5 different boards namely State Board (State wise Boards available in different states like Punjab Board, Gujarat Board, Andhra Pradesh Board, Maharashtra Board Etc.), CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), ICSE or ISC (regulated by Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations. While ICSE refers to the board dealing with Std 10, ISC is the one for std 12 students.), IB (Commonly known as International Board, but the exact nomenclature to this being International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Std. 12) and CIE or IGCSE (regulated by Cambridge Assessment International Education. While International General Certificate of Secondary Education deals with Std. 10 and AS and A Levels deal with std. 11 and 12 respectively). These Boards offer different combination of subjects. The details of each board based on streams offered after 10th are given below.
